It feels good to be bad, but it feels even better to be the embodiment of evil! Discover your evil side as you build your own underground kingdom. A refreshing title for someone tired of rescuing princesses, saving worlds, and all that love, happiness and political correctness junk. Build your dungeon, protect it with a labyrinth of dark corridors, a web of deadly traps, an arsenal of powerful spells, and an army of bloodthirsty demons Revolutionary game packed with tons of dark humor, an impressive variety of hellish creatures, and highly addictive gameplay Includes Dungeon Keeper and the Deeper Dungeons expansion. After all, the underworld isn't black and white! That's right-Dungeon Keeper, Bullfrog's classic dungeon management strategy, gives you no extra credit for having any morals. It’s a degenerate and nasty job… And you love it. You pit their scaly hides against the best that the Forces of Good can muster, and they die for you as they rip steaming entrails out of the hapless heroes. You keep them in line with the back of your hand and the threat of dire consequences. You lure them in with food and the promise of dank and fetid places to sleep. And it’s your business to take these loathsome creatures of darkness and hone them into screaming, frothing, clawing forces of destruction. Don't play it for the story, and try to avoid the DLC if you want to save your money, unless you want to try the new third-person mode.Being the Dungeon Keeper and all, this is your home, too. The pistols were disappointing, and I found the sound of the guns firing rather dull. It is awful and cringe, yet unabashedly hilarious. Some of the voice actors, the main protagonist especially, sound like they are voicing a budget anime series. However, unfortunately, like all most other RE games, the storytelling is horrific and cringe. This game checks off all of the RE boxes: good gameplay, fantastic immersion, decent puzzles, and keeps the player invested. It makes the experience more enjoyable since you are not in a rush to complete it. I found the length of the game fitting, and I like that fact that the RE games aren't that long. Although I found RE 2 and 3 quite scary, they did not actually stir up genuine dread in me the first-person aspect does that! The setting and gameplay compliment the first-person perspective in a way that adequately augments the horror aspects. I'll start off with saying that although I am more a fan of the third-person gameplay of Resident Evil 2 and 3, I found the change to first-person quite refreshing and immersive. It's been some time since I wrote that pompous, badly written review, but after having played Resident Evil Village a year after its initial release, it thought it would be appropriate to return with yet another review on this franchise. The first review I ever wrote on a game was Resident Evil 2, which I also gave a 10/10.
